5. Historical Ownership Data (December and June)
The Links are annual files that detail the relationships between subsidiaries and their parent companies. They include information on the percentage of ownership, the source of the information, and the date of validity. Each different type of ownership relationship is captured, such as simple shareholder, Domestic Ultimate Owner (DUO), and Global Ultimate Owner (GUO). This allows researchers to understand the structure of corporate ownership and how it evolves over time.
The Entities contain basic information about each entity involved in the ownership structure, including the BvD ID, name, country ISO code, and entity type. Detailed information can be retrieved from the Orbis database using the BvD ID, which provides deeper insights into the companies’ operations and affiliations.
